After years pursuing the career of Mother, Darlene Kay Thomas returned to college to earn first an Associate of Arts from the Community College of Aurora (Fine Arts plan of Study) and then a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver). This education has assisted in moving her art work from hobby level to emerging artist. Her work has been seen in various shows in Denver, Aurora and Pueblo, Colorado. Private collectors own her paintings and drawings in Colorado as well as Utah, Texas, Indiana and Michigan. Metropolitan State University of Denver possesses a painting in its permanent collection as does the Denver Public Schools. Darlene is experienced in painting murals indoors and out. The most notable residing at the Regency Athletic fields at MSU Denver. Paintings have been published in two editions of Metrosphere Art and Literary Magazine and interviews with her about her work have been published in the Metropolitan Denver Magazine and the Denver Post.
