When did I become and Abstract Painter?

The answer to that question would be, this last month.  I have never been interested in learning abstact; I have never considered it “my thing”.  Not that I couldn’t appreciate other people’s work (I cound and did)  I just had no idea how to go about it for myself. School assignments have a way of changing your mind for you.  Both my Painting III class and Watermedia had assignments to do abstraction.  I took a deep breath and plunged in.  I am shockingly pleased with the results.  My professor is even trying to get me to consider doing abstract for my thesis.  Hmmm, I’ll have to thing about that for a while.
